    This two-story building remained beside the former Coast Guard Station until it was sold in 1958 to Kelly Willis, who moved it to this site. It is one of only two surviving examples of 1880s life saving station design in North Carolina.

    Gordon Willis built this house on the site of his childhood home. He was born at the Cape in 1916 while his parents were living there during the summer fishing months.

    This is the first house built by a private construction firm to house workers building the rock jetty at the west end of the Cape. It was apparently the residence of Dominick Asdenti, from Baltimore, Maryland, who served as foreman of the jetty crew.

    The lighthouse keeper and his family occupied this house until about 1930. During World War II it housed military troops. In 1958 the Coast Guard sold it to Dr. and Mrs. Graham Barde who moved it south to its present site as a summer cottage.
